Grant is 2!!!

Grant-man turned 2 on June 25. We thought it would be fun to have a waterslide in the backyard, so our neighbors generously let us borrow theirs, but Grant didn't want to go near it. All the other kids had fun on it. Grant loved the presents and the cake. I have learned that a two-year old is content with the first present they open. You shouldn't try to get them anything else because they only want to play with that first one. Grant-man is so much fun! We can finally understand most of what he says and he loves to sing.

WICKED!

We went to see Wicked and I am happy to say it was well worth the six hours standing in line in the freezing cold for tickets, and the outrageous price! The music was so powerful it made me cry.

St. Patty's Day Parade

We LOVE holidays! So, we couldn't let Grandma and Grandpa miss out on the St. Patty's day parade at the Gateway this year. Lucky for us, the weather was beautiful so we loaded up at the fire station and rode the engine downtown. Grandpa drove the tiller (at the back), so the kids had fun talking to him through the headphones. Grant loved watching all the "puppies" walking around in their green sweaters and Cade and I had a blast throwing candy from the top of the fire engine until the policeman asked us to stop.

Grace had her violin recital last night. She wasn't nervous at all, she just walked up and started playing. Grace started violin lessons last August.

80's night

For our young women activity a few weeks ago we told the girls to dress up 80's and took them to Classic Skating which is so ghetto! Nothing like the 49th Street Galleria days. My sister-in-law, Kari, had an 80's prom dress she wore when she and Eric dressed up as Napoleon and Deb for Halloween so I was all over that. As you can see it is classic 80's Jr. Prom. I wish I would have taken a picture of the back, because it had a huge bow on the butt. Sarah reminded me how to do the hair with the bangs half up and half down and wings on the side. The leaders got into the dressing up more than the girls. It was a lot of fun. My girls were funny because they didn't know how to dress 80's. I told them to wear what's in style now, but crimp their hair. I can't believe those styles are back - it makes me feel so old! Skating was fun and I only fell once (:

I'm back on the blog!

I know I haven't blogged forever. Here's a list of what's gone on in our family the past 3 months so you'll know why:

1. I got called into the YW presidency as 1st counselor. I have the BEST group of girls. They all come to everything and are so cute, but I had no idea the time committment would be so great. It's like I have two full-time jobs (the other is being a mom if you wondered) and a part-time job (I still do accounting on the side).

2. Jeff got released from the Stake and called as the Elder's Quorum President. Ironically, this takes less time than his last calling, but not much. He's still gone Sunday mornings and Tuesday nights, but at least we can go out on Saturday night now instead of doing church reports (:

3. Grace turned 7 on Nov. 15th. She had a Rock Star party at Justice Just for Girls. The girls played games, got their hair and make-up done, and rocked out to Hannah Montana, Jonas Brothers and other teeny bopper songs.

4. Christmas was fun. Grace had a ton of performances with her singing group and violin. We went to Zoo Lights and Festival of Trees among others. She is really coming into her own and still loves to sing.

5. Jeff and I had our 10th anniversary Dec. 30th. We celebrated by having my family up to the Christensen's cabin. Joe and Laurie were in town for only 3 days (way too short), and it was awesome to see them again. We got home at 7 pm that night and spent 3 hours taking down Christmas to get ready for...

6. Cade's 5th birthday (Dec 31st). Last year we threw together a last-minute bowling excursion and this year Cade asked me if I was going to wrap his presents. So, I promised him that this year he could have a real birthday party. We had Scales and Tails come and bring a bunch or reptiles. It was the best party...the guy reminded me of Jim Carrey. And the kids got a hands on experience with the reptiles (those who wanted to, at least).

So, that catches you up on the last few months. I will try to be better, but I'm not making promises.
